The Migration
Around January 3, 2023, staff moved the old URL for the forum to the new current one (modd.io/forum). The old domain was taken down and there was a badge that used to be obtainable and now itās just a relic from the past.
They didnāt like the forums as they had a long time experience using Discord and didnāt want to consider hopping. So this is why this shift was controversial.
They were actively working on the forums, meaning the Discord server didnāt receive as many updates. Some people just joined the forums and left. People from the old forums had an account but during the migration, the account system was broken and staff frequently helped the people that had trouble with creating an account.
So many people were concerned about the forums outgrowing Modd.io and its community. People asked for help in the Discord server and staff encouraged them to use the Forums, which was some sort of advertising.
